SOCII

Founded July 24, 2023

“SOCII” stands for the Society of Catholic Inklings and Imagineers. It also conveniently means “colleagues, partners, comrades, or allies” in Latin, which is what we are — allies in art. Founded by Laurie Nash, SOCII is a group of crazy Catholic teenage writers, artists, and other creative minds who band together to create and compete fun and original works of art—videos, stories, photos, you name it. Above all, we pursue excellence in everything we make. Though most of us are from sweltering Northeast Florida, our online community has allowed us to expand around the country to fellow creatives. 

Our inspiration comes from the Inklings, a group of writers and thinkers (including JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis) whose fellowship and exchange of ideas produced some of the greatest literature of the 20th century, and from Walt Disney's Imagineers, whose collaboration and innovation brought the Disney vision to life. 

We, the Inklings and Imagineers of the 21st century, are driven by the desire to create “l’art pour l’art”—art for art’s sake—and to glorify God through our creations. You can see our best projects - completed or otherwise - on our YouTube channel or here on our showcase.
